Dawnwing padded swiftly inside her den. She tasted the air, the smell of Burdock, Yarow, and other sweet smelling herbs comforted her. She looked around her newly appointed den. Dawnwing saw a Shiny silver feather on her tail. That's unusual... She thought. She put the feather next to her herbs. She lied down and Napped for a while.

Where is Tabbypaw?! Dawnwing continued to think. That little furball is always sleeping in... Dawnwing continued to look around, her Dark green eyes glowing in the light of Sunhigh. She waved her tail anxiously. She walked outside of her den and looked at the Star-free sky. She looked at all the cats in the clearing too. She padded back into her den and sorted herbs.

It was then, perhaps a moment late, that the young tom did arrive. There was a flickering shift of light as his bulky figure blocked the sun's midday rays. But it was gone in a moment, as the tabby apprentice slipped into the cool shade of the den. His well-built muscles rippled powerfully with ever step of his paw, and strength did seem to sort of radiate from him. Certainly not the kind of appearance you'd expect on a medicine cat. Not like he cared much. His mind was set on it, and he could accomplish anything he wanted to no matter what others may think.
Tabbypaw's jaws were filled with burdock root and poppy flowers, and as he padded farther into the den he set them with the stores. Then, he cast his amber gaze around to meet his mentor. "Hey," He meowed in a rough voice. "We needed some more herbs, right?" Then he gave a small cough. Even though Leafbare was over the tom was showing signs of a mild whitecough. Although since it was still to chilly to have a good supply of herbs growing, so far he'd refused to take any tansy or catmint for it. As far as the brown tabby was concerned, his case was only small; there were more important things to deal with at the moment. [/blockquote]

Dawnwing looked back to see her apprentice. "Hello, Tabbypaw." She looked back to the Herbs. "Yes, we did need some herbs, thank you, just go ahead and put them down right here." Dawnwing flicked the tip of her tail to the Spots of Burdock and poppy flowers. She once again looked back to Tabbypaw,"Hm, You sound like you have Whitecough." Dawnwing said in a concerned voice. She continued,"It sounds mild, Would you like some tansy to help?"

Tabbypaw merely flicked an ear, as if dismissing the topic. He was healthy enough; it seemed to mild still to spread to anyone else, and it was only a rough voice and a cough. Easy enough to handle. "No, I'm fine," The brown tabby replied, beginning to take the poppy seeds from the flowers and placing them in the designated pile. "It's not that bad. There are others who need the herbs more than I do." Trying to dismiss the topic, he focused himself on his work. It would probably make more sense to take the herbs and disspell the whitecoudh before it had the chance to get any worse, but as far as the apprentice was concerned it might just go away. Bessides, it was just as he'd said: it was still a little chilly outside and herbs weren't growing well yet, so if other cats grew sick the herbs would be better used on them. In his opinion, anyway. But since he was a little kit, his opinion has always been respected and left alone as an unspoken rule of freedom, so that's what he assumed would be the case now.
Changing the subject, Tabbypaw flicked his tail as he worked and meowed, "Did anyone come in while I was out?" [/blockquote]

"No, It's been pretty quiet.." Dawnwing meowed, She continued " Pray StarClan heal you without herbs." Dawnwing padded over to the feather she has left on the ground. "Nothing really happened today, except I found this Shiney silver feather." Dawnwing looked at Tabbypaw and continued, "But your not interested in that, right?" Dawnwing let out a Soft Mrrow of humor. "Thank you for finding the herbs, by the way."

Just finishing with the poppy seeds, Tabbypaw put the burdock root on its pile before turning back around, and nodding. "Oh, I've been through worse. I'll be fine." His voice did still sound hoarse, but he truly wasn't worried about it. It'd probably pass with time, anyway. It was nice that Dawnwing respected his opinion, too; a lot of other cats would have just kept pushing him. And he certainly had been throguh worse than this, especially when his brother Tigerkit died. Although, that was hardly up for discussion at the moment. He didn't need to be reminded of the naive mistake he and his sister had made that day, even when nobody else knew. Shrugging it off, the lage apprentice went to sit over my his mentor.
"A feather?" His amber gaze took a moment to sweep over the item on the ground. Even if he was a tom, he had the basic interests of any other RiverClan cat; shiny or pretty objects did fascinate him to at least a degree. "Don't let the kits or apprentices see that. They'd sneak off with it in a heartbeat." With a small laugh, the tabby couldn't help but yawn. Last night he ahdn't slept well, which was why he'd gone out herb-collecting. Now he was paying the price of his early morning search. "Thanks," He meowed, pushing aside the impulse. [/blockquote]

Dawnwing laughed a bit. She looked around to see if there was anything else she needed. "Well, I guess that's all I need, Thank you Tabbypaw, you may rest if you need to." Dawnwing shuffled over to her moss bed and lied down. "Or You can do whatever you apprentices do now-days." She sighed and Closed her eyes. She wasn't tired, she was just resting her burning Green eyes from the hot sun. Why is it so hot? Shouldn't it be Warm? Dawnwing muttered under her breath. It Was New-leaf, the snow was now just a hint of white over the grass.

Thanks! =o I made it using Corel Paint Shop. ]]
Tabbypaw shrugged again. "Okay," He meowed, glad their herb stores were fairing well enough again after the long Leafbare. And today was warm enough, so maybe it would encourage more plants would shoot up. Maybe they'd get lucky. When Dawnwing mentioned a nap, though, he flicked an ear. Yeah, he'd have to go with that; even though he felt compelled to go hunting somewhere with his sister Tansypaw. After all, he'd been rather busy lately, and the two of them had always been rather close. He almost felt an obligation to go and seek her out.
Then again, he wouldn't be much good for hunting or much else at all with his lids drooping. Despite his nagging desire, a rest sounded too good to pass up. So, nodding, the brown tabby went over to his nest and curled up and took another glance at his mentor. She didn't look tired, but the heat had probably gotten to her a bit. Not like he could blame her, though; today really was hot. Maybe there's be a bit of a cooling breeze later on. Letting out another silent yawn, Tabbypaw let out another meow of, 'Wake me up if you need me,"before flickering his amber eyes shut and drifting off to sleep. [/blockquote]

A small black cat limped into the medicine cat’s den, lifting his right paw. It was bleeding, and he had a small gash above his left eye. Smaaart. Fall on your face during training. Mystpaw thought bitterly, remembering how he had fallen. Sighing, he walked over to Dawnwing. He hated medicine cats, but he was in too much pain. “Hey, I uhm, got cut…” he mewed awkwardly, his paws getting tired, and his injured paw throbbing with every heartbeat. It annoyed him that he tripped so easily. He looked over at the apprentice and tried smiled. When he did though, his scar sent a shock wave of pain through him, and he fell over.
He was paralyzed with pain, unable to move, he just sat there. Limp. He opened his jaws and let out an agonized cry. Tears fell down his cheeks as he remembered how he got the scar. Why me?! The young tom thought, terrified. It was lasting longer, what if he was permanently broken? Panic flooded into him as he thought of the possibilities. [/size] ((OOC: Mist, I love you sig so much XD))

Dawnwing's dark green eyes opened. She got up and stretched. She looked at Mystpaw and Hawkflower. "Tabbypaw I need your help now." she meowed. Dawnwing whispered into Tabbypaw's ear "I need you to take care of Mystpaw while I take care of Hawkflower." She padded over quickly to the Herb pile, she got Chervil, cobwebs, and poppy seeds, just in case. She walked over to mystpaw And murmured " Alright, I need you to eat these poppy seeds, if you can." she noticed that he was on the floor. She walked over to Hawkflower and Chewed the chervil root into a pulp. Dawnwing then Squeezed the Juice out of the leaves into Hawkflower's eye. She looked over at Mystpaw. His wounds look like there infected now from the dirt on the floor.... She Padded over to Mystpaw and put the cobwebs over his wounds. " This should help until Tabbypaw comes to help, this is not a serious cut,." she trailed off, "But whould be treated Quickly." Dawnwing's voice got louder as she looked over at the sleeping Tabbypaw. Once again, she walked over to Hawkflower. " I need you to Lie down." she mewed.

Tabbypaw had been having a rather unnerving dream about life in the Nursery, when suddenly a she-cat popped into the den and asked him for some aid. Well, in his dream he gave her a puzzled look. But it was obvious to him that it hadn't been something from his subconscious. Time to get up.
Flicking an ear in consent, the tom watched his dream fade and dissolve into an incoherent mist. But that took only a moment, and within an instant his amber eyes flickered open. He stood and stretched with a yawn, before taking a look around him. Two new cats were in the den now, each with nasty-looking cuts on their fur. Well, at least the dissapointingly short nap had made him a little more alert than before. It was better than nothing, and it looked like he'd have to be careful around the wounds. So, with a shake of his brown fur, the medicine cat apprentice padded over to the herb stores. Let's see here: certainly some cobwebs, marigold for infection, and by the way Mystpaw was wailing a few poppy seeds would be absolutely necessary. It only took him a minute to grab what he needed and, nodding at Dawnwing as he passed her, he made his way over to his patient.
Tabbypaw stopped where the other tom was laying sideways, and set the herbs down to inspect the paw in question. Yes, it certainly wasn't a clean cut. And according to the loud meows that kept like a siren, it hurt bad enough. He felt rather obliged to say something in order to try and calm the other apprentice down a little. So, he opened his moth th say something. The only thing that came out, though, was a hoarse and almost inaudible squeak. Well, that was enough to shut his jaw in confusion. What was that about? He tried again but only got small, faint rasps and a tiny jab in his chest with every intake of breath. Jeez, he'd been fine enough before his nap. Maybe his whitecough had gotten a little worse. He might have to do something about it -- after dealing with his patient, of course. But he'd have to be careful not to do anything that might possibly pass his sickness.
First, Tabbypaw pushed a couple poppy seeds towards Mystpaw's maw, and indicated that he swallow them with a flick of his tail. Then he looked back over at the leg in question. Well, there certainly wasn't nay time to waste, was there? He quickly grabbed up a bit of marigold and, after chewing it into a pulp, applied it to the open cut. And with careful movements he soon had cobwebs on it. But there was a shred of doubt lingering in his work. Was the leg really just cut? By the look on the other apprentice's facer, it looked much more painful than it would normally be. Well, eh supposed they'd find out soon enough.
Is it just cut, or is it actually broken or something? xD ]]

By the looks of hawkflower's eye, She can't see very well with just one eye...Of course. Dawnwing thought. She put her tail over Hawkflower's shoulder and Led her to the Patient moss beds. "Alright Almost there Hawkflower." Dawnwing murmured. After a couple minutes of Stumbling they got to the moss bed. Dawnwing lied Hawkflower down. Dawnwing then bit some moss from the moss supply and wiped the Dripping yellow puss off of Hawkflower's eye. "Now. How did this happen, Hawkflower?" Dawnflower waited for her to reply.

((OOC: It's a scar, and it opens sometimes, and it sends terrible pain through him, so its open.)) Mystpaw stared at the poppy seeds doubtfully, but licked them up anyway. He felt relieved a bit, and even more relived when the joice was put on his leg. He sighed a bit, but that burned. He stared into the darkness. Mystpaw freaked out until he realized his eyes were closed. His pelt was burning with embarrassment. His body went limp, and started to go numb.
He knew he wasn't dying, but he welcomed the numbing feeling. It made him happy, and he sighed again. He was feeling extremly nervous because of how close they were, they could easily slip death berries into his mouth. He shivered, and noted they wouldn't do that... unless he really was dying. Once more, he shivered and waited for them to tell him. He hoped he wasn't, but if he died... he'd be with his sister.
