Cold mornings

Ravenpaw sat outside of the apprentices den, it was a cold morning, and the cool breeze made her fur tingle. She didn't seem to mind it though, it was quite relaxing. She was alone, as far as she could tell. She made sure she didn't wake any of the other apprentices up.

A single paw came out of the shadows. "Dun.....dun." little Hawkpaw crept closer. "Dun...dun". Her blind-white eyes glowed in the darkness of the apprentice's den on this cold, cold night. "Dun..dun. Dun.dun. Dundundundundundundun!" She lept into the air and playfully bit down on Ravenpaw's ears. She smiled happily, still biting Ravenpaw's ears. "Hi Ravenpaw!" her voice was muffled.

Ravenpaw groaned and then scowled, "Why are you bitting my ears?" She hissed in a quite voice, her tail flicked back in forth as she waited for Hawkpaw to let go, hearing nothing but the sounds of breathing and Hawkpaw's muffled voice.

Hawkpaw quickly got off of Ravenpaw and her ears lowered after hearing Ravenpaw's hostile voice. "I was just acting like that giant fish in Oneeye's stories. Remember? the one of that giant white with with huge teeth larger than a foxes?!" She crouched into a hunters crouch and stalked around the black cat. "And it swims around its prey, getting closer and closer until...!" She lept at a leaf and clawed it, "...It's too late."

Ravenpaw sighed, "I don't listen to the elders stories" She calmly explained, twisting her icy blues eyes towards Hawkpaw, following her as she circled her. Ravenpaw folded her ears back, "besides it's not like we're ever going to see a fish that big anyway" she meowed.

The hyperactive apprentice sat there, in though. Her ears perked up energetically as she pounced on Ravenpaw. Her face was wide with a smile. "Wyh dont we go and find that fish!" She exclaimed loudly, before putting her tail over her mouth. She soon let it drop again. "Sorry," she whispered, still energetic, this time. "Why dont we go find it ourselves?" she suggested again, quieter. "Or are you still a kit?"

"Kit?!" Ravenpaw huffed, "I may be small but I am no kit, let's go looking for that fish and i'll prove to you that it doesn't exist" She meowed, suddenly realizing what she had said, she mental cursed herself, for not being able to turn down a challenge.

She quickly got up, as quick as a rabbit, and ran in circles. She never ran out of energy, and always had too much. "Lets go. Lets go! Lets GO!" She ran out of the apprentices' den and ran to the entrance of camp. The one cat supposed to be watching the camp was asleep on duty, which made Hawkpaw rush past easily.

Ravenpaw groaned and followed Hawkpaw, chasing after, slowly and carefully passing the ground and onto the territoy lands. Ravenpaw gathered herself and quietly asked, "Where is the big fish anyway", since she had never heard the story she had no idea where they were going.

Step after silent step. She acted as if she was an agent, or a spy. She often hit behind rocks and trees before continuing. She listened to Ravenpaw complain. Hawkpaw turned her eyes around right into Ravenpaw's face. "To the lake," she said hauntedly. "To the lake!" she echoed before running off, now heading into Riverclan territory.

Ravenpaw sighed, and chased after Hawkpaw, 'annoying bundle of energy' she thought to herself. Ravenpaw walked normally as Hawkpaw ducked and rolled, hiding behind rocks and trees, like a goof-ball.
